Our lie-down hammocks have a bed 8 feet (2.4 metres) long. The hanging length between trees or posts is 14 feet (4.3 metres). Comes with two screw-hooks; you supply rope or chain and S-hooks as required for your hanging space.

“Cosy” is 54 inches (1.4 metres) wide, comfortable for two side-by-side.

Your rope choices are olefin (forest green, sand, burgundy) or nylon (black). Nylon is softer; Olefin is longer-lasting but plenty comfy.

Instructions: sit in the centre (both width and length), lean back and swing your legs around to lie down. Enjoy! If you can’t keep your eyes open, be sure you’re in the shade… To make a self-swinging option, attached a rope to a nearby post or tree about midway down the hammock length and at hammock height, long enough for you to pull and hang onto for the full arc of the swing.

The Hammock Chair (or swing) is a single-person nest – pull your feet up and snuggle in. Pull the rope and wiggle until you’re supported all over – then relax and dare the world to disturb you. Just as easy to fall asleep in as our lie-down hammocks! Great for relaxing your back muscles after a workout in the garden. Or hang one in the office for reading in. Hmmm, is this why laptops were invented?

If you really want to share, the hammock chair is a cosy place to read to a child on your lap or to nurse a baby.

Indoors or out, the hammock chair can be installed with an optional ceiling-mount kit to any sturdy beam (such as the ceiling joist in our livingroom in front of the picture window…). Or use your own rope or chain to hang from a tree branch, gazebo roof…

Made with Olefin rope for comfort, strength (up to 300 pounds), and longevity. Olefin wicks water away so it dries fast, and it’s UV stable. Of course it lasts longer if you bring it out of the weather when not in use. Customers have called to say their 18-year old hammock chair finally wore out and needs replacing – you won’t get nearly that much use out of a cotton hammock!

Installation kit for hanging our hammock chair from a ceiling beam where you can’t wrap a chain around. Consists of a bracket and screws to mount on the beam, plus two S-hooks (not exactly as shown in the photo). You supply the appropriate length of chain (1 foot of chain for an 8-foot ceiling), so that the assembly from top down is: beam, bracket, S-hook, chain, S-hook, hammock chair. A standard ceiling joist is strong enough for this installation – our own hammock chair hangs from a ceiling joist just in front of the picture window in the livingroom – great for reading the morning paper and planning the day. Or not…

Metal stand for our lie-down hammock. Heavy-duty steel tubing, 450 lb capacity. Footprint 180″ x 48″ x 48″. Powder-coated finish in black or rubbed bronze.  Works for hammocks 10-15 feet long. Note that our hammocks are longer than many sold in retail stores, so their stands may be too short for Blue Chicory hammocks.
